Surface Treatments

We offer both Water-based (spray-applied) and Cream (brush-applied) water-repellent brick sealants, containing a high percentage of the active ingredient Silicone Silane. These products are classed as Hydrofillic, sealing the surface against the ingress of water but being breathable, so any latent dampness in the structure can escape.

  • Approximate coverage of 7 square metres per litre will typically be achieved when applying the Water-based sealant through a low-pressure sprayer
  • Approximate coverage of 5 square metres per litre will typically be achieved when applying the Cream sealant using a masonry brush
  • Both sealants are effective on a single coat application for moderately weather-affected locations; areas exposed to more extreme weather will benefit from multiple coats.

The brush-applied Cream sealant generally achieves the better penetration, rewarding the extra effort involved in its application.
